Terms of Service

What HostX is

HostX puts static websites online: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images and other files. You, or an AI app or script you connect, send the files; HostX stores them and serves them at a link. It does not run server code for you.

By creating an account or using HostX you agree to these terms and to the Acceptable Use Policy. If you use HostX for an organisation, you agree on its behalf and confirm you're allowed to.

Your account

You need to be at least 16 to have an account. Give a real email address, keep your password and API keys safe, and tell us if you think someone else has used them.

You're responsible for everything done with your account, including what AI apps and scripts you've connected publish. You can see and disconnect them in the dashboard at any time.

Your content

What you publish stays yours. You give HostX only the permission it needs to store, copy and serve your files to visitors, and to make the backups and caches that keep them online. That permission ends when you delete the content, apart from backups that roll off on their own schedule (see the Privacy Policy).

You confirm you have the right to publish what you upload, and that it follows the Acceptable Use Policy.

Limits

HostX is in early access. To keep it running for everyone there are limits, which are shown in the docs and may change: currently 25 sites, 10 custom domains and 1 GB of stored files per account; 100 MB, 5,000 files and 25 MB per file per site; and rate limits on publishing and the API. HostX keeps each site's live version and its 20 newest others, and removes older ones.

Price

HostX is free during early access. If paid plans are introduced, we'll tell you before anything is charged, and nothing will be charged unless you choose a paid plan.

Taking sites down

We can suspend a site, or an account, that breaks these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or that puts HostX, its visitors or other people at risk. Where it's safe and lawful to, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond. How to appeal is in the Acceptable Use Policy.

Ending

You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the dashboard. That takes your sites offline and deletes them, as the Privacy Policy describes.

We can end the service, or your access to it, with reasonable notice; or straight away for a serious or repeated breach of these terms.

No warranty

HostX is provided as it is, during early access, without promises about availability or fitness for a particular purpose. Keep your own copy of anything you publish; HostX is not a backup service.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, HostX isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and its total liability to you is limited to what you paid for HostX in the 12 months before the claim (during free early access, that is nothing). Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll say so in the dashboard before the change takes effect. Using HostX after that means you accept the new terms.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction to be confirmed], and disputes go to its courts. HostX is operated by [operator's legal name and address to be confirmed].
